Dear Editor: Nice column from Dave Zweifel (“How dare a working stiff earn big bucks?”), but it missed the point!
Is it safe for Metro drivers to be working that many hours? Is it fair when Metro’s part-time school bus drivers, barely making a living, are not able to pick up more hours due to the union contract that limits part-timers to school bus routes? Is it right to raise fares to cover the additional cost of not being able to utilize the current staff in a fair and safe manner? Does Metro exist to serve employees or the residents of Madison?
