Woman's wallet stolen at bus stop

A 20-year-old Fitchburg woman allegedly had her wallet grabbed out of her hand by another woman while she was ready to board a Madison Metro bus on the south side.

The incident happened Oct. 26 just before noon at the Metro south transfer point, 802 W. Badger Road, police reported.

Madison police said the victim had her wallet in hand as she was about to board the bus.

"Another woman grabbed her wallet and ran off," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain.

The suspect is a black female, about 230 pounds, wearing a brown jacket, gray pants and black and white tennis shoes. The wallet is pink and white with hearts on it.
