MATC needs more parking

The Capital Times, December 18, 2008

Dear Editor:

Many MATC-Truax students drive to school every day, and many are upset with the lack of parking spots. It's almost impossible for students to find spaces in the parking lot. I have now resorted to parking three blocks down the street and walking to school. If students want to park in the lot, it's so congested that it can take up to a half-hour to get a spot.

Leaving the school is terrible as well. The lanes are overflowing with students trying to get out of the parking lot. I see the angered faces every day on my way into school and on my way out.

If the school constructed a parking ramp, two or three levels high, it would make it easier for students to park. It could be built on an area currently used for student parking. MATC also could collect additional parking fees. Therefore, not only would the students win, but the school as well.
